On Monday 22nd of March we did a play called The Wizard of Oz. It was brilliant fun. I was a Yellow Brick Road Dancer. We had to practise a lot. We had to look out at the audience all the time.
Mrs Egan taught us all the songs. Miss Shanahan looked after backstage and did the prompting. Mr Gleeson wrote the whole play and the words to one of our songs and he played the part of the Wizard.
There were nine scenes in the whole play. We started rehearsing for the play near the end of January.
Some people made their costumes, others borrowed from other people and some even made their costumes.
The Wizard was very funny. The Wizard's Apprentice was too but the Scarecrow was the funniest of them all.
There was a raffle at the end and my daddy won third prize.
I loved the play and we raised a lot of money.
