We all love our pets. Here some of our students tell us about their animal friends.

Hi, my name is Ciara. I am going to tell you about my dog. His name is Finlay. He is a great Dane. He will be two at the end of Janurary. He is bigger than my sister Lauren. Lots of people think that he is a mean vicious dog because he is so big but he really is so gentle and dopey. There are two reasons why I don't like Finlay so so much. One is that he drools a lot which is disgusting. Two is that his tail is very whiplike and if you get hit with it full force it is very sore. Finlay has to gain at least another 150 lbs. I love Finlay and I think that his colour (light orange) is gorgeous but he is not my favourite.
Now I am going to tell you about another dog of mine. His name is Dougal. He is a rescue dog. At his first home he was beaten and thrown out on the street. Then he went to live with a lovely lady at a farm but he didn't like it there. Then he cme to us and it was very hard to gain his trust. He is a Shepherd cross. He has a lovely dark matty coat and he would win a competition for licking someone to death. I love Dougal but he is not my favourite.
I also have lots of goldfish in the pond out in the back garden but they are not my favourites either.
Now I am going to tell you about my favourite pet. His name is Jack. He is a black and white greyhound. He has raced in Newbridge, Clonmel and Thurles. He usually comes first, second or third.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am going to tell you about my dog Podge.
I have a dog and his name is Podge. He is a year and six months old. He is a miniature Jack Russell. He is white with a brown head and two brown spots at his tail. He has brown eyes. I got him last year about three months after Christmas. He stays in the house. He is a very playful dog. When I come in the door from school he rolls over and shows me his belly and jumps up on my pants. He jumps on my lap when I sit down. I love my dog Podge and he is the best dog in the world.
I have a lizard at home also. His name is Ralph. He lives in a tank in the porch. He is green and is an iguana. He is vegetarian. He eats broccoli and tomatoes. He sheds his skin almost every six months depending on the temperature. His environment includes woodchips and a background with leaves.
We have eleven horses at home. Their names are Holly, Silver, Rosie, Heather, Blossom, Cody, Sootsy, Paddy and the other three are not named. My Dad goes out and feeds them twice a day. They get hay and some mixed grain.
